We are
a Cardiff- based arts collective whose aim is to provide a platform for
talented, emerging artists to share their work and ideas with the public and artists
alike. Although
Cardiff has art galleries that play their part in the city’s cultural life, we
feel that they do not give the adequate support needed for students and emerging
artists. The arts can be a tough place to put your future prospects in, so
support is needed from an early stage in creative discovery.
Whether
stepping straight out of art school or ten years into a self- taught practice, we support artists from all backgrounds. We promote a diverse
range of artistic mediums from video, painting, sculpture, music, performance,
theatre and installation based work. The artists we advocate often have
a strong level of craft-based ethos in their practice. This is an element we
value very highly within the collective as it pertains to a strong sense of
community through the sharing of skills. We believe that art should be
accessible for all.
We organise pop up exhibitions in disused or empty shops, giving
new life to the places others have discarded bringing something fresh and
unusual to the high street. We have also taken artwork to the streets in
the form of a ‘Walking Gallery’ as well as our Empty Walls street art project and numerous mural paintings.
We are a non-profit collective and we want to get as many people
involved and creatively uplifted by our events as possible.
If you have any questions, ideas or want to get involved, don't hesitate to get in touch!
